I’m also a picker. I feel for you. I have not been able to stop generally, but it helps a lot when I put antibiotic ointment or aquaphor on a scab or rough area. I find that gooey ointment sensation very unappealing… and, sadly, I love pulling any kind of scab or dry spot off.

OP, it's called Excoriation disorder. Here is info and how it is treated. Our DD has picked her lip for 25 years - it is very difficult to stop unless the patient wants to. Vaseline is a good idea. Any sort of barrier is a good idea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excoriation_disorder
