Want to make a top woman’s college soccer team right now? Easy.

1. Hire a coach who is involved in coaching any of the US teen national teams.
2. Find alumni who will do NIL deals that get the players to a full ride status plus some spending money.

You can have a NCAA top 10 program next year. My Alma mater was a perennial middle of the pack P4 team. An alum decided to do NIL deals for women athletes. Not huge, but enough to basically get everyone on the soccer team to full ride status. They don’t have a bad coach, but not one that can really draw recruits. Still - getting close to top 10 status.

Just need the $$$.

Texas did it I believe and they are terrible.

Care to share the school? I'm curious to see where. There are a few programs that have committed to fully funding women's soccer to 28 scholarships - off hand, I know Clemson and Tennessee. There are others as well but I can't find it. Your point is well taken - there are some schools that I am aware of that offered an early decision NIL bonus that was a pretty nice number for a women's soccer player. Same school also had a monthly stipend as well.

It's like a chicken and egg thing in some cases though - programs that have proven track records - Stanford, UNC, UVA, Duke, FSU - are going to continue to draw recruits even without the $$. Put the $$ on top of their success and they become that much better. Funny, all the schools I just named are in the ACC and there are probably ones that should be on that list and others that I included that should not be...

This isn't basketball. The mid major teams can't compete at all. The P4 should have the best players and development and the money should all go there. Are they going to send Atlantic Sun Lipscomb to play Stanford or CAA Stony Brook to play Duke? The Big East isn't even competitive anymore at this point. The ACC tournament final 4 may as well be the college cup.

LoL. You’re new to college sports?

Does ODU get VT’s slot? Creighton tied Arkansas?

Memphis is #3 are they of d1 too?

Is Georgetown out too?

What about Fairfield?

Do you think that Lehigh or Georgia State are closer to Roanoke College than they are Stanford?

You lost me at Fairfield...are you kidding? Sure there are some good mid majors...not the point at all. There are a few exceptions you can find here and there every year (VT was very good last year and has big football $$). I'm trying to make a general point and have some fun with it. It's never gonna happen anyway. Just draw the line and start developing the P4 players and teams, get better coaches, invest in the girls. The Georgetown example is silly too, they don't care about women's soccer and should just move into the Ivy league which has totally dropped off the map competitively because of the P4 conferences (they make the tournament every year because the big east stinks). Hoyas can be a D3 national champ. I watched Memphis last night because they are so highly ranked...they are not even a top 20 teams, their conference is terrible (their coach was literally screaming the entire game in a totally empty stadium against a terrible team the barely beat...but, find a spot for them since they have football $$. Move some cash to the ladies game and make a real D1 and draw a line. Maybe people would be more interested?

Why can't any of these know it alls here ever admit they are wrong about something, ffs?

"Hey I have an idea. All the people on DCUM Soccer will get big lolz and agree with me."

Then when it flops they can't just be like, "Yeah, y'all are right. It wasn't the best idea."

Memphis roster is all international players and they lost to a school I've never heard of last night. Is their a roster cap on the # of international players you can have on a women's NCAA roster?

Memphis all international? I'd say it's not more than 50% and 1/2 of the international players are Canadian, many from Japan and maybe one from Spain?. Not 100% on that, just took a quick look. If you are talking last night's match - U Texas San Antonio. Funny, my DD's team has players committed to both of these programs.

Memphis get's a 7 seed. Georgetown gets a 2 seed.

False:
Strongsville, Ohio
Jacksonville, Florida x2
Wilmington, North Carolina
Memphis, Tennessee
San Marcos, California
Alpharetta, Georgia
Seymour, Tennessee
Peachtree, Georgia
Charlotte, North Carolina
New Providence, New Jersey
Lexington, South Carolina
Huntington Beach, California
Jarresttsville, Maryland
McAllen, Texas
Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina
High Point, North Carolina

17/28 from the U.S. And, I don't care who played how many minutes. That wasn't the point you were attempting to make. You said UM roster is ALL international players.

UT San Antonio isn't "world famous" but I have heard of it. It has a large student population. Travis Scott went there. Your daughter will likely know who he is.

So, the international players are getting the majority of playing time is your point?

Richmond United has a player committed to UTSA.
