Believe that their advantage may have shrunk if the Tuesday results carry forward - they can't give everyone a double-digit advantage so any district that may now be in the +5-7 margin are now vulnerable. The VA House of Dem delegates raised their seats from 51->64. They didn't get to 64 without knocking off some seats with margins of +7 or more.

And the Dems should've just been silent? That's such the GOP playbook - we can behave badly, but Dems gotta follow the rules.

The "anti-semite" bit is literally 100% interchangeable with "Republicans." They are not operating in good faith. They are hypocrites and they know it, and don't care one bit. It's all about grabbing power by any means necessary.

Democrats sued Texas in 2022 over its maps. Then they sued again in 2023 over the redrawn maps, citing racism.
The gerrymander favoring Republicans is because Hispanics have been voting more Republican, so some of these minority districts that are being drawn could end up voting Republican.

Texas has been notified by the Department of Justice that its districts are in violation of federal law.

California's redistricting measure was passed in violation of the California constitution. It requires a certain amount of time for a bill to be made available to be read before being voted on.
This would not have worked for being on the ballot right now, so they instead took another bill that was already posted and replaced its text.

If this is true, so what? Who from the current DOJ is going to pursue and prosecute this? Name someone who could do this and not get fired.

I don't really care if they do it or don't, but it's the results.

Have you looked at the maps. All the Texas maps look pretty natural and geographically plausible. California maps have all of these long districts with thin corridors connecting small urban areas to remote rural regions. Much like MD's district eight. Same for Louisianna and the other Southern districts that are now being contested. I mean geographically the Republican's districts seem to make much more sense.

The only one in Texas that looks kind of weird is when they connected the two cities together. But that kind of makes sense, they aren't that far apart and will have similar interests.

When the Republicans did it these didn't lead to "swing" districts, they lead to stable Republican districts stable Democrat districts. I think California stretched much further.

In the long run I think it'll lead to some unexpected wins for Republican's in California from time to time, that's the thing about Gerrymandering. It's not a guarantee, those will likely be competitive districts.

Trump has declared war on Californians and is rounding up anyone who looks Hispanic to place them in concentration camps. Of course the Hispanic areas are voting against him. Wait till you see what happens in Texas. The Republican moved Hispanics around to get their new districts. If the midterms are like similar to last night republicans in Texas will have given up 5-6 blue seat. Though the way Trump is going it may be 6-10.

The corruption and graft of Trump is just insane not to mention the destruction of the economy and the Nazish attack on Hispanics and others.
