Wrong. This is the opposite of this. You'd think it means this but in reality it is just to boost up their app numbers and then they will announce very soon this was their biggest year for apps ever and how their selectivity boosted and their acceptance rate is much smaller now.

No, this is not what happened. It’s:
- school gets more apps than ever before by 11/1 deadline
- school extends deadline
- school gets even more apps than ever before
- school announces biggest app year ever, making it more selective and harder to get into (which is then heavily advertised as such, reporting the massive number of apps and acceptance rate)
This has been going on for a few years and 100% is NOT bc apps were down for the schools doing this.
