They’re raising their biological siblings. These two children have been deprived of any relationship with their biological siblings for their entire lives because some backwater judge got the ick about an older woman having kids. Think about that for a minute.

Agreed. I don't think she should be in a legal mess, but that doesn't mean I think society should condone her choices. Those are different things.

What mental illness? I'll give you that she's eccentric, but what do you believe is the diagnosis? Being weird isn't a mental illness.

The mother's stopped giving birth in their 40s, around menopause. My great-grandmother had 16, the last at 45, not 63. There is a difference.
