Wake has a smaller greek system, its not the same vibe as Clemson which has a large greek system more like an SEC school (although its ACC).

Clemson has a much more southern vibe and kids who aren't used to that can have a little culture shock. Wake has kids from all over the country and doesnt feel like a "NC only" school and has a more insolated feel- smaller campus but lovely.

They are not "vastly" different. The hyperbole is not helpful.

Wake's Greek system may be smaller but only because there are fewer students. Overall, it has a larger impact on the tone of the campus than does the Greek system at Clemson.

Clemson's vibe is not "much more" Southern; in fact the two are comparable in that category. Anyone who experiences a "culture shock" at either of these schools is too immature to be in college.

Some of you love the over-the-top language, but it's not a positive in your writing style or helping with questions like this.

Yes they are very different, even "on paper".

Clemson- Rural, Public, 23,401 undergrads
Wake - Suburban, Private, 5,490 undergrads

The vibes are not comparable as another PP describes Wake feels more like a country club/boarding school envt, and its a very contained campus. Most students stay on campus through Jr year with a very large amount of students studying abroad junior year. Wake has 50% of undergraduates participating in Greek life, but it feels different than Greek life a a large school like Clemson.

Please. Clemson is not "rural."

Clemson is in the middle of nowhere. Wake is in a city of 250,000.

People keep saying that and it isn't. Greenville airport 40 minutes away Seneca, Anderson, Easley all have everything anyone needs.

How often did you drive 40 mins away when you were in college?? We're talking about day to day life.

Why do they need to drive anywhere? plenty of restaurants bars etc right there in Clemson.

My brother played at wake, they have always been bad. a few good years here and there but overall they suck, Clemson has 1 bad year and everyone claims they suck. OK.

This from AI and pretty spot on:

Clemson generally has a more "home-grown" and "fun-loving" vibe, known for its friendly student body and strong athletic culture. In contrast, Wake Forest has a more academic and exclusive atmosphere, with a higher cost of attendance and a reputation for being an outstanding private liberal arts school

The sports stadium and arena at wake are not on campus which is a huge thing.

It isn’t a huge thing, the stadium is 5 minutes off campus.

And the new restaurant/entertainment district will be nice when it opens next to campus next year. https://www.winstonsalem.com/2024/09/new-entertainment-destination-the-grounds-coming-to-winston-salems-deacon-boulevard-area/

Clemson was my kid’s likely, Wake their target, and Vandy their reach. Kid is at Wake.

Just going to say this, Wake is having a far better football season, and just beat SMU.
