OMG, I thought I was the only one with this sentiment, we have good HHI and investments right now and we are looking at every opportunity to increase our NW because I don’t know what future holds for my kids or even us, we are doing our best so they can at least be comfortable.
Another person who is thinking the exact same thing. Building as much wealth as possible, worried for our kids and what the future holds.

Again folks you will be fine..no amount of money is going to give you confidence that your kids will be set. The future is so uncertain with so many variables that's it's hard to say. It's not just about money. It's about society. It's about how some us no longer think vaccines are safe. It's about how some us hate poor people. It's about how some of us think roofers working in 100 degrees heat don't need water break etc etc. We are slowly going after our own citizens and turning them into monsters by robing them of their dignity.
If you leave your child 15 million dollars it's not going to make them safe.
Let us worry about making a better society as opposed to worrying about how much money we are going to leave our kids

PP here, this is true but we are keeping a very close eye on the market and are planning exits to cash or index funds sooner rather than later. Also, thinking of buying some real estate, at least kids can live in the house and only have to worry about a job to provide living expenses. Preparation and planning is all we can do, rest is out of our hands.

ha ha! This reminds me of year 2001 when I was a young scientist working for a start up. I recall a conversation on my way to work one day with my landscaper who wanted to discuss his holdings in CISCO, EMC, AOL, JDS Uniphase.... I recall it was springtime and we were a few weeks before the dot com meltdown that year

+1000. Human nature sadly make us feel comfortable with the millions we have in equity. We often rationalize by pointing to the past and conclude that the most we could lose is X%. That's just wishful thinking.

Most of you will not be able to save enough for your kids to have the same standard of living they are enjoying now. Make sure you encourage them to be independent, creative, driven and humble.

You are correct. Our fashions for the young are literally pajamas and sweats and stuff that can be bought at discount stores and nobody will tell. You can be wealthy and dress like you just rolled out of bed in the USA unless your job requires some minimum dress code.
