I agree though, they should get back pay asap. It makes be livid that this is happening. I am not a fed and actually know no Feds but I think they serve the rest of us and should be respected.

Of course they will get back pay ASAP, but it does not mean immediately after government reopen. The process takes 4-5 calendar days, it is reasonable.

Yeah, maybe for a month but now it’s getting scary. The longer this drags on the less likely I believe others will be made whole. Additionally, in a normal employment context there would be damages and restitution for withholding pay like this. We aren’t getting that. So we’re taking on debt and spending our savings, making life decisions that affect our futures, with the hope that maybe some day we will get the salary we were promised. That’s not enough. You should get back pay and then some.

He's a garbage American.

When the Presidential Crimes Commission convenes in 2029, I hope his ass fries.

Who do you think is going to process payroll, OP? HR and accounting aren't getting paid either. So if we all waited for paychecks, we'd never come back.

That would be great to have a general strike. But americans might be too individualistic to do that. I know so many Fed families who disagreed with DOGE and still went ahead and bought Teslas. We are in love with materialism and money to our own detriment

Which agencies are calling back? Where has this been reported?

DP here. I don’t know if tons were called back but I do know that a segment at State that wasn’t functioning has now resumed functioning to some degree. So some people must have been called back.

The biggest BS going on at State is Consular Affairs is fee funded, working the entire time, but not being paid.

Where is the line between “I have a job” and “I am a slave”?

No pay, no work. Seems simple enough.

I read USDA was calling 4.2K people back but they are apparently paying them with monies from something like the Commodities Credit Corporation.

Seriously they should have to just sit there until they work it out. I bet it would be resolved quickly in that case.

Not really, they would die before double crossing their lobbyists.
