Mine are in college now, but in HS:

DS1 Travel baseball year round, basketball/wrestling (switched mis HS), HS baseball

DS2 Travel baseball year round, football, wrestling, HS baseball

Travel baseball was lower key in fall, went into conditioning in the winter, on pause during HS season and then full on travel once the HS season was over. Both were recruited for college.

Youngest in 10th - swimming and tennis. Is also on club swim.

Baseball, ultimate frisbee and dive team through high school. Fortunately (?), our kid never wanted to make commitment to compete at higher levels. The youth sports industrial complex is a mega billion dollar business that offends me on several levels.

8th grader
Club soccer for OBGC year round
Basketball for MS team and basketball for rec.
Rec basketball is only once a week practice a d a game on Sat. By the time that starts up the club soccer switches to a winter schedule which is only 2 practices. No games from Dec-Feb.

DS in MS: three school sports (every day after school fall, winter, spring) plus one club sport (evening practices 2x week + weekend games and local tournaments). Rec sport (basketball) in winter, sometimes additional rec type sport (flag) in the fall.

DS in HS: XC plus same club sport with same commitment. Very very difficult to maintain higher level training requirements, practice lengths/schedule, and overall wear and tear on the body. Has not been able to do supplemental training for club sport. Add in juggling with homework. I think this is the last year (sophomore) he’ll be able to do both.

Kid2
MS 3 (swim, soccer, basketball)
HS 2 (swim, volleyball)

Kid 1
MS 3 (swim, flag football, baseball)
HS3 (swim, baseball, golf)

By high school one sport was the primary focus, others more recreational but they played on school teams.and/or summer leagues.

Yes. They may have to miss a practice or meet here or there, but should be able to do 90%.

Fall and Spring, travel soccer. Fall he also does school soccer. Spring he does track but does more field events. Winter he does flag football but it's more of a social thing than a workout.

Middle or High?

Which teams did they participate in?

Why the restriction to actual teams? A lot of sporty kids prefer individual sports. Lots of kids ski, snowboard, rock climb, bike, do archery etc. but very hard to form a team to compete if you're into that stuff. You mostly just do it with your friends and family.

OP may be curious about scheduling/ logistical challenges, which are likely less of an issue with stuff you do on your own.
