Camp Hidden Meadows (Bartow, WV)
- co-ed
- old school no-tech camp
- great farm and garden program, outdoor living skills, outdoor cooking, river play and each week the kids pick a new adventure (hikes, swimming holes, overnight backpacking trip, etc)
- there are court and field sports (not really competitive) and aquatics as well. climbing is popular, as is culinary arts, pottery, arts and crafts, drama, etc. It's largely a choice based program, supplemented with cabin activities
- does 1 and 2 week sessions, but you can combine for more if you like. they group kiddos so that 2 weekers are generally with 2 seekers to minimize interruptions, and 2 weeks (or more) is becoming the norm though there are still 1 week kiddos
- lots of DMV kids
- secular, but there are a fair number of jewish kiddos and counselors

I agree with Eisner. Our daughter will be going there this summer for overnight. She has done 2 summers of daycamp there previously and cannot wait.

Camp Runoia- totally down to earth, traditional but with inclusive values. They have 3 week sessions and shorter (I think 10 day) sessions. All girls in Maine. My daughter has been going for a few summers and loves it. They have a good number of Jewish campers but are a secular camp.

DD went there from age 9 until she aged out and then worked as staff for a few summers. It was a really special place for her.

For 8-10 year olds, the program is only one week. Age 11-15 is two weeks.
