Does TJ not have a scatterplot? I found ours to be accurate.

As for AO’s not being truthful, they can’t tell the whole truth. I worked in law school admissions (different beast I know) and there were tons of questions like this we could not answer directly or completely honestly, especially back in the days of AA post Grutter decision.

If your child wants to up their chances and is on the GPA border, it's probably best to do ED.

My DC with 4.48 GPA by the end of Junior year, 13 AP, 34 ACT, NMF, varsity sport captain, marching band, multiple national awards in arts and writing, and weekly volunteer work for four years, was rejected by UVA. Ended up at a top SLAC and couldn’t be happier.

Is this common at TJ?
My DS is in a similar situation, and I’m wondering whether he has a better chance at other Top 20 schools...

I find her information to be not altogether truthful.

Is there an example here? We’ve been following her for awhile and it seems to be pretty accurate advice for our school

Does anyone know if GPA is recalculated or if middle school grades are excluded? My child isn’t at TJ but attends a comparable school and is taking the most rigorous courses. However, the high school credits he earned in middle school are lowering his average. His GPA has been steadily trending upward throughout high school, though.

NP. Same Q.

- what SAT score is needed for admission to UVA?

Are all TJ parents this helpless?

I guess due to the change in admissions priorities …

Look at the common data set. I think the middle 50 is like 1410 to 1520

4.4 end of Junior year and need "most rigorous" curriculum.

How many APs is "most rigorous"?

Ask your counselor

Honestly, it’s so much more and somewhat of a guess. So many kids apply from TJ and they all are top notch and UVA just can’t take everyone. Naviance should tell that story quite well.

the maximum across all subjects that your school offers. don't double up into one area of study. (im guessing a TJ - 11-13?)
