Releasing the scores 1 month after the test window closes is absurd. My 4th grader took the iready the first week of school and I still have no results. By the time I get the score, it will be old data. APS testing window ended I believe the same day's FCPS and they got scores the following week. That sounds much more reasonable.

Again, he didn’t score 98%. His score was in the 98th percentile meaning he did better than 98% of all 5th graders taking this test.

Yes. Everyone knows that. People don’t want to type percentile. Or %ile. Chill.

We got an email that said these would be released on Parentvue last week, but they have still not been released.

They say on one hand they want parental help in the education process, and then give literally no feedback on how our children are doing! I actually love FCPS, and now that my oldest two are in HS, we get plenty of graded feedback, at least. But my youngest is still in ES, and I have literally no idea how he has done on any test/work/assignment. I guess it's the case of the bad apple spoils the barrel. Since the meddling parents are spoiling it for the rest of us

+1, Parents should be able to get more information earlier in order to help their children on time, not after the fact. I very often feel like, parents do not know what the children are studying at school in order to support them prior to tests, not after that. I am referring to ES students. What is your way of knowing what your child is currently studying and how do you make sure they understand the topic?

We still haven't received these, I assume the teacher is hanging on to them for the parent teacher conference, but really irritating especially we are at a clustered school so my AAP child has a different math teacher from homeroom.

Our ES school has a history of releasing the standardized test scores at the same time as the report cards. Again, we have not had scores released, I am sure we will get them in 2 weeks at the end of the 1st qtr.

Thats a great question! I asked the teacher for my daughter's score several weeks after she reported taking it and the teacher refused to share anything with me claiming she didn't have any information. She said we could discuss it at the parent conference at the end of the month.

To add, if they don't want people bothering the teacher for the score, then release it in a timely fashion. There's no need to sit on the scores that are calculated immediately until almost Thanksgiving.

My kid knew his score, it is displayed at the end of the test. He told us what it was, and we looked it up based on the most recent charts.

The County waits until everyone has completed testing and sends out a specific report for the scores to everyone at the same time. If they gave you the raw score, Teachers would be inundated with requests for sub score break downs and analysis of the score, some of which should come in the report that is sent out. Teachers have enough on their plate and don't need to add to that the % of parents that want detailed explanations of every assessment. I say this as a parent who likes detailed explanations of every assessment, mainly if the scores are lower than what I expect or if a flag is raised by the test.
