i've tried to find it again, and I am extremely confused.
Does anyone here understand what I am talking about?
I think one of the things was the pay for the IB coordinator in each school. Also, for the training, etc, of IB teachers.

She did say Cambridge is much cheaper.
But, I don't see anything happening on that front this year. Too many other moving parts.
AAP culminates in TJ for our top students.
Why switch to another european program when IB is such a failure and waste of money?
She's talking about eliminating AP, not AAP.
But, yeah, she's pretty out there to toss out the idea of eliminating AP.
Girl needs a better filter.

Just tried out this find it link. Clicked on a couple of states--just get a town/city or two in the states listed.
So, of course FCPS will jump on something unneeded and untested.

What exactly does she want to replace AP with - clearly she doesn't want to replace it with IB, which she knows is even more expensive - and how would this serve FCPS students?
I hope she misspoke and meant dump IB. That I can support.
She said the new western HS can’t be an IB school because it’s too close to South Lakes, which is IB. But then she went on to say they need to get rid of all the AP schools because it’s too expensive and replace AP with “Carnegie,” only to say later she really meant “Cambridge.”
Yet IB is more expensive than AP and she said nothing about getting rid of IB.
Yes, and she said when they bought the school that this would be great to reduce the overcrowding at Chantilly. But, then at a later work session (after meeting with Fairfacts/Great Falls) she said it should be a magnet/academy because it would be a shame to eliminate those "beautiful small spaces" in KAA.
Not sure what her agenda is, but she does represent Dranesville. There are a lot of people in Dranesville against this new school.

Anonymous wrote:If she really thinks it's expensive do what our private school does - make parents pay for the exam.
I know, I know, equity. But I believe parents would pick that over some alternative very few people have heard of for purposes of the college admissions rat race.

Getting rid of IB at the IB schools would make infinitely more sense than getting rid of AP, especially if cost is a consideration.
+1. We don’t need yet another system. Dump IB and save tons.

She is really bad at her job. She knows very little beyond her experience in one position at FCPS. Everything is about the master schedule for her.
