I have nothing against him at all and wish him well... but I don't put stock in food critics. They don't have my tastes and I don't have their tastes, so I don't find them very useful.

Yeah, without the restaurant names this is just PP trying to make herself feel superior to Sietsema (and people who like his reviews). And being snotty in the process.


The only place I can remember him totally panning was Founding Farmers and he was 100% correct.


That was a great review. Also check out his review of LaVie at the Wharf. Zero stars.

I think people who say "actually fabulous" are likely to be people who love Real Housewives.

One of the things I appreciated most about his reviews was the details, so if he didn't like, for example, barbecue sauce that he found too sweet, I would know not to rule it out (I like sweet barbecue sauce)

He’s had an incredible run and I will especially miss his Wednesday chats, one of few that have endured at WaPo.

I liked his reviews but definitely didn't always agree with his favorites. I cancelled the Post so I haven't read one for at least a year, so I won't miss him as much as I otherwise might have.
