Correct.
The relevant questions are why and whether anything about these schools are actually different now than they were five years ago, when they were rated higher.

Dartmouth, Davidson, Duke, Emory, UNC, UND, UVa, Vandy, W&L are not peers with Wake they're 1-3 tiers above. Wake is grandstanding with this peer list.
I beg to differ on this one.
We’ve been through this before and it drives Emory mom insane, but Wake beats Emory in acceptances among cross admits. Some smart kids also want fun. Also think it is a peer for UVA, Davidson and UNC (instate). Vandy and Dartmouth are likely reaches for kids for whom Wake is a target. Similar type of kid though.
Wake boosters should stay in their Top 75 lane and leave Emory out of the nonsense. Emory admin do not think Wake is a peer.
Wake
1420-1500
Emory
1500-1570
See, Emory mom hates that Wake wins cross admits. Doesn’t change that Emory is where fun goes to die and kids before Wake. Don’t think SAT test scores particularly meaningful when both schools have less than 50 percent of class submitting SAT but the correct range for Emory is 1480 to 1540 (per latest cds).

WFU is loaded with students from wealthy families. Excellent school for the upper middle class & for upper class students.
Schools like Vanderbilt and WashU have a higher %age of top 1% families and they are ranked in the top 20.
Amherst, Georgetown and Dartmouth are right behind Wake with top 1% families.
Next excuse…
