Subject: what shoes or boots would you wear with this for fall transition time?
Quince has a dress that is very similar that I have in 3 colors. I get tons of compliments when I wear them. Friends have purchased it after they saw mine. And we are all late 40s.
The dress is not for fall, tho laugh.

Blech. This reminds me why I never wear dresses anymore (though I want to). Those will all look terrible on most women.
And can we please retire that last look already? The 1940s house dress look is just sad. Gah, I hate shopping for clothes as a middle aged woman!
I'd wear the sweater dress, but sweaters are my thing.
I hope knee length dresses/skirts will come back, because they're much more figure flattering.

I am 45 and have this dress in a different color (also knee length on me). I think it’s a fun dress and have worn it with flat Chelsea boots in a light tan suede color.

The Somerset dress has been around so long that there are Amazon knock offs. To me, the tiers and puffy sleeves add to the “young” look.

The long quince dresses - especially the second one - really emphasis that point that you don't want your skirt to hit at the widest part of your leg because it makes your legs look short and stumpy. That second quince dress really makes the model look terrible - imagine what it would do to a normal sided person.
They are way too girlish. I have a couple of the full length somerset that I love and I tried the mini and it looked ridiculous. I’m early 40s and a size 2, but it just looked way too young.
And agreed about the quince dresses. I like some quince stuff but the linked ones are mostly frump city!

I think it's a cute dress and I'm 50. It's just not a fall dress. It's a spring/summer dress and boots don't go with it.
Ok. Get it everyone. But although this say mini it does to my knee and a little below.

Yeah that's one of the most unflattering cuts I've seen and the color is so bland, yikes.

It's not nice, and what stood out to me was the layer around the hips. What did you wear last year? Just wear that. You don't have to buy new clothes for every season.
