Isn't that rice?

Apparently both just read about it somewhere today.

Sat on a counter for hours ...

Does this mean 2-3 hours during the party, then you took it home and put it in the refrigerator?

Or does it mean you took it home in an aluminum tray, put it on your counter, and left it there for 6-8 hours?

I'd eat the former, not the latter.

^^If you placed it in your fridge when you got home, it should be fine.

Initially read that it was left out overnight, but if you placed it in the fridge when you got home, I would have no trouble eating it.

Sorry, OP. It's terrible when this happens but shrimp food poisoning is no joke.

Given the tomato sauce and less than four hours, I would eat it.

It sounds to me that it sat out a long time at the party, and then OP put it immediately in her fridge when she got home?

+1. That’s how I read it.

I would never eat any sort of seafood that sat out for more than 2 hours.

Oh, and next time DONT TAKE IT if you won’t eat it! What a waste. I am sure if the host gave it away, they would have eaten it.

Also concerned about pasta, it can become poisonous and no amount of heating will kill it.
