For targets could be Case Western, William and Mary (maybe the st andrews jt program), URichmond, maybe Lehigh, Tulane, Emory, Wisconsin, Wake, Villanova, Hamilton, BU, GW. Lots of larger public options.

Emory is harder to get into than Georgetown.

For his major, polisci, Georgetown is more desired than Emory.
On the other hand, Georgetown is weak on stem and premed.

Uh oh. Is this where we go off the rails with the Emory hate?

Any school with an admit rate below 20% is not a target. Some of this advice here is patently wrong. Proceed with caution and speak with your student’s college counselor.

I also thought of W&M (target) and Dickinson (likely).

Good list except for bucknell is a likely at ours. Davidson is a reach.

Wake is the obvious target for this kid. Tulane and GW are obvious soft targets, as is W&M if he's feeling those vibes.

My DS is a 1500 kid and is looking closely at most of these schools. All the likelies are spot on. Wesleyan is a low reach. Davidson and Lehigh are solid targets or low reaches but could be likelies if ED. Bucknell is definitely a likely with a 1500. All good options for poli sci.
For a reach, but less of one than some: Claremont McKenna

If Catholic is okay, St Anselm's in New Hampshire for a target. It's a little isolated, but not that. The first presidential election debate is usually held there. It has a strong institute of politics.
Sorry but St Ansley someone with these high stats — from a faraway major metropolitan area — is not a reasonable suggestion

It is a lively school, thoughtful
