I applied for some positions and the 4 questions were there but they said they were optional and your application wouldn’t be dinged for not filling them out.

My applications were definitely submitted because I’ve already heard back about scheduling interviews.

Are you internal ?

Also, it might be different for high level positions (GS-15 or higher), than for positions below GS-15. GS-15 and above often involve at least some degree of policy-making or interpretations of policies that may have widespread significance.

I’m a selecting official for an internal 15 that just closed and was told the questions were optional, answers wouldn’t be sent to me because they were optional, not required, and the person approving my selection would be my direct supervisor who is. It a political.

I apologize, but I do not understand your post.

I’m a career SES managed by a career SES. Sorry, I had a typo that I didn’t see on my tiny phone screen before I pushed submit, and I immediately posted again.

They corrected themselves immediately in the subsequent post. The one right above yours.

Haven’t a clue. As a manager, my superior called me and said we could verbally only inform our employees of the funding through 10/7. The no written communication was fully stressed. I had to call some of my employees on their personal numbers because their TODs were already over.

I have also heard this. It seems very strange to me. Why wouldn’t they want anything written down? I assume because what they’re doing is illegal.

Avoiding FOIA. Our politicals basically pass around post it notes at this point.

If they hate FOIA this much they should issue an EO on FOIA. Most administrations issue one. Make drafts and internal emails off limits to FOIA.

and it states?

The same political stuff that was on the HUD website plus a statement that there wouldn’t be a RIF and the IRS is hiring.

The new positions might require 4 questions which are basically a loyalty test.

I applied for some positions and the 4 questions were there but they said they were optional.

Hit send too son. Optional and your application wouldn’t be dinged for not filling them out.

What does this gibberish mean ?

Yes, but I have been told that if you attempt to apply without answering the optional questions, that the application will not be submitted.
