There is baby Stats which is what AP stats is. Next level Stats courses require calculus, and more advanced statistics require even higher calculus. Why?

OP asked if AP Stat requires Multi. AP Stat is equivalent to 301, if we go by Wisc. worldview, it requires Quant Reasoning. No idea what that is?

It literally says if you get a 4 on the exams you'll get credit for 301.
