np and how would that be possible? I am teaching classes for more than 20 hours a week. That certainly counts as working!

40 then, 40 now, not including work I occasionally put in at home. Of course, I’m paid much more.

My first "real" job was probably the least hours per week I ever worked, although there was very little PTO and it was boring, so it felt like more. The most I ever worked was mid-career, and now towards the end I work maybe 45 hours a week (but I get a lot of time off and I don't hate my job).

I used to work 60 hour weeks when I was in my 20s. It didn't really get me anything but a jaded/Communist opinion of corporations, which are all gone or shells of their former selves.

Now in my mid-50s, I work in an in-house role where I never work more than 40 hrs/week and mostly my job can be done in 30 hrs.
