Would take a look at BRYC or Vienna not too far away. Villarreal is weaker on girls side at that age.

My younger boy (2016) had a military kid join mid-season at a top local club. I do think more flexibility is typically granted, especially if the kid is good.

If your kids are good enough, sometimes clubs can find a spot for them on some team that isnt full, but clubs like to carry full rosters for the cash.

I'm in another part of the country with a significant military population and our club does not fill up rosters right after tryouts in May because they anticipate incoming players from military families.

Not really a big military population here. They want to guarantee a full roster of paying customers.

Completely wrong. So many families PCS here-- we had military families fly in for spring trials, but they do not have do. From my experience the clubs most willing to take a look at our families outside the regular trial period are those Pentagon touching (arlington, alexandria, union, mclean, SYC, BRYC, Lee mount vernon, vienna). In MD, SOMD rush, MD United, Maryland Rush. In DC/Joint Base: Washington Capital United, DC Way.

I do not have perspective into Mont County and farther out into Leesburg, etc for those clubs, but I am sure every club in this area will accommodate a military child at the level best for them. If they do not, I would be disappointed in our area.

For training, I recommend Capstone (I think) in Falls Church. It's the one near the Sweet Frog. A top girl's soccer player went there and said it was great. It's my son's friend, that's why I only remember the Sweet Frog part of the conversation !

Thank you. I will email some of the clubs mentioned in the replies. I kind of prepared my kids not to be able to find a team and just work with trainers privately until tryouts. But was hoping there was a chance they could find a team, maybe just to practice with or even find some guest opportunities for tournaments.

If you are willing to pay and willing to join lower-level travel teams, there will be spots open, for sure, no matter what time of year. Coaches just need to get a first impression that they want your kid on their team. But you can't be too precious about only looking at the top teams, where parents are already complaining about big rosters, playing time opportunities, etc.

Of the “top” girls teams in this area, FVU, SYC and Arlington definitely have open spots. Villarreal, Great Falls and Vienna might. I believe Revolution, Loudon, McLean and Alexandria top teams are fully rostered.

Revolution is nowhere near falls church. Might as well go to VDA or Richmond.
