I studied in the UK and my husband in the US. We have 4 kids. 2 studied in the UK and 2 in the US. (1 was technically 2 yrs there and 2 yrs here). Grading is much harder than in the UK.
This is only true if you're taking the bare minimum required courses at each. Some US schools allow students to take graduate courses early, while UK schools do not.

Agree with this. Much more is expected on exams and papers in UK than mid-tier or even elite US schools.
That's unlikely to be a source of stress for OP's kid.

I have two children currently at University in the UK coming from a US public school (we are US/ UK citizens).

It did take the pressure off my son, because he had 4 AP exams at 5 and all of them were in relevent subjects for the major he was applying to.

His application went in via UCAS the first week of Sept and by mid October he had 5 unconditional offers - i.e. they were not looking for further AP scores or SAT scores from him. He was all set. This really took the pressure off 12th grade.

But he was always planning on returning to the UK for University, this wasn't just a ploy to lighten the load in 12th grade, but that was definitely a happy bi-product.
