I can do laundry and I’m a good cook and I’m decently on top of things, but if my dh passes I will be a mess with the financial stuff—taxes, investments, understanding mortgage terms…goes right over my head.

IQ and capacity to do things or thing are two different things. Most people who you think are stupid, have some kid of neurological difference. They see and do things differently.Their brain is different. When they explain it to you, it makes total sense to them and almost to you.
We witnessed a physical attack on a person. Since nobody called the cops, my 'friend' said that it wasn't a crime. He didn't understand why nobody called including us. Well, because it happened so fast, the person left and we all helped the victim.
It was still a crime that went unpunished, unreported.

Most tech stuff. I just can’t give enough of a sh&* to learn it. I can do basic stuff but, for example, my son plays a couple of sports and you can sync calendars. I manually enter all the dates. I’m sure it is easy but I don’t know how to do it. Until a few days ago I didn’t know how to turn off the sound when I got a text.

Some things I’ve figured out when it is important enough to me to learn, but generally I just bumble through most things.

Organizing files on my computer. I have backups of stuff. It's all there. But there's no organization to it.

My digital photos. And letting go of things I no longer need but have sentimental value.

yet the new englander aesthetic is pretty messy. Muddy boots & jackets. they also don't do their laundry

Change a tire, jumpstart battery, change windshield vipers, things like that.
I’ll also probably never drive a stick shift. Heck I’ll never drive in Europe.

Digital music. I’ve made it this far in life without itunes/spotify/amazon music/pandora/etc. and stubbornly refuse to learn and pay.

Apps. What’s wrong with a good old-fashioned browser?

I’m with you on laundry. It feels good to have it put away, yet I struggle to do it.

I will never have an uncluttered house. We're 4 people in 1200 sq ft and a basement. Very little closet space. I would love a larger house but my husband has hoarding tendencies and I'm afraid he's just going to accumulate more stuff.

My house will never look like some of my friends' houses that are just... empty. Like staged photos of homes for sale. Where is their stuff???

Real estate agent had them put away on the curb in one of those pods. You can try getting ones of those things to place outside your house and see if that helps unclutter your home - keep only essentials everything else out. Bring back only items you need or want one or few things at a time.

I feel like I’ll never get done with the clutter in my house. Every where I go there’s just kid trash, kid party favors, kid toy, kid hairbrush, on and on. So little of it is mine. They’re all little and are pretty good at cleaning their rooms, but they spread out far and wide.

Opening and paying bills the day I receive them, either in paper or email. I am set on a bills twice a month schedule. Also, managing produce. Moving fruits and vegetables from a good to eat now into a "preserve" for future use state (for example, brown bananas.)

The way I have clean laundry is that I sit on the couch with the fresh-from-the-dryer clothes at my feet in the laundry bag and fold as I watch Netflix. As I fold, I put things in categories based on which drawer they'll go in. All pjs in one pile, sock matched and in a pile, all underwear in another, etc. Then when I finish, I pause Netflix and take the piles and put them away.

I will never be decent at cooking. I'm awful. I can make like four things and that's it.

Math. I’m 53, can do a lot of things very well but I literally cannot do basic math.
