I am lonely and I want to have conversations about various issues with someone who is not indoctrinated. I mentioned earlier sex is still great, now I don't know maybe I just do it with her cause I have to.
I posted just after you - I'm in the same situation except I'm the wife. It's been a very, very long ten years.

No, but it doesn't matter. We are aligned where it actually counts in a relationship, but we don't vote for the same candidates and we don't try, too much, to provoke each other over politics. We are aligned with respect to ambitions, financial goals and approach to achieving them, our approach to raising our child, how and where we want to travel recreationally, where we want to live and our lifestyle. Politics is a relatively trivial dimension in our relationship; we tolerate each other's occasional expressions of support for, or antipathy towards, candidates, politicians, or policies with which the other disagrees. We just accept that synchronization on politics is improbable and not actually important in a relationship.
