No. I asked yesterday afternoon. They offered for me to come in and see if I could smell it. Their townhouse is set back 6 feet from ours and their basement stairs run toward the back of their house, while ours are toward the front. Their basement staircase landing mirrors ours and they keep the door to it shut most of the time. Ours is always ajar for the cat.

I may ask to check today. If there is sonething decaying between our houses, it is only a matter of time before they can smell it.

I once had a dead chipmunk in my garage. When I went in there in the morning the horrific smell was most definitely of death.

Why do you think it is worse in the morning? Higher humidity? Less ventilation overnight?

We were able to find the entry point and seal it off after that happened. It goes away in about 2-3 weeks.

Thanks. Because it is a shared wall, there are no outlets. I suppose I have to wait it out. Do you think activated charcoal could help?
