Let the boys be boys. A lot of parents are not great role models for behavior. I don't blame the boys, I blame the parents.

One of the meanest and worst behaved kids I've ever met did tennis and chest club with DS. So....I don't know why you think all tennis kids are going to be what OP wants.

Catholic school. A huge reason we’re there is the kids wear belts and collared shirts every day, adults expect good manners, parents correct each others kids. I couldn’t deal with kids coming over and jumping on furniture. We wait until 8th grade cell phones. Not perfect and kids definitely have screens and misbehave sometimes, but much more in line with the way we grew up in terms of expectations and behavior.

Lol. No, most parents don’t train their 8 yos not to run and play. You sound incredibly uptight. I can see why God decided a placid daughter was the right move for you.

Why is running and jumping not allowed? We let our kids run around the house
and jump on our basement (playroom) couches. Sounds like they were having fun!
Seriously. Either set a place they can run and jump or send them outside, but kids want to play. That's good and normal.
I get compliments on how well mannered my kid is all the time, but she still wants to be a kid.

My kids' elementary-age peers at our church are out of control. And everyone is too "all are welcome" to address what are very real behavior problems impacting the rest of the congregation. It really bothers me.
Sadly, mine might be one of these. We are doing everything we can to correct their behavior.
