I lost a sibling to drugs/alcohol, so I lived through the nightmare as a sibling and watching my parents. We were upper middle class, private schools, nice house, loving parents, etc. Nobody else in our family/extended family had these issues. My take is that the addict has underlying mental health issues they were likely born with or developed over time. Sometimes there’s a traumatic incident, but sometimes it just happens and there’s nobody to blame.
Charlie—like most of the addicts I know—comes across as very charismatic. He seems like someone who needs to be around people (another common trait of addicts). It’s a miracle he’s still alive, and I think Denise played a critical role in that over the last couple decades.

+1 It's strange

Wait Chuck Lorre hired Charlie Sheen for a job?

I don't remember thus part - who did he ruin?
Corey Haim for starters
He addresses this in the doc. He vehemently denies having done anything wrong to C.H. and points out that even Corey's mom stood by the fact that C.S. didn't SA C.H.
I went into this doc thinking about C.H. and S.M.F. (who also claimed to be SA'd by Sheen) and came away thinking the Haim allegations were a figment of Feldman's nonsense. Still not sure about Punky though.

I remember how likeable, normal and loving she came across, like someone I would want to be friends with or live in my neighborhood. I can’t remember what it was called or what channel it was on (probably E) but it seemed to take place after her divorce and while she was helping care for her father.
She sold her daughters to only fans
She didn’t educate them at all she was not a good mother
From what I understand it’s only the older daughter (isn’t the younger very religious) and she voluntarily left Denise’s house when she was 18 because she didn’t like living with rules so she went to live with Charlie. But then she wanted to do only fans (vs going to college or get a job) which Charlie was against. But she was 18, so neither parent could stop her.
Maybe, just maybe, the older girl, with an addict, famous father, who was known to have prostitutes, in rehab, all over the news, had trauma because of her father. But yeah, Denise is the problem. So excuse the absent, addiction father and just blame Denise for being a terrible mother because of what an adult decides to do.
BTW that same daughter has a very interesting Tik Tok account that talks about her feelings re Charlie. She does not speak to him. There is a reason.
Sure, it’s all Denise’s fault. you suck.
