To me it is like choosing between Stalin and Hitler when it comes to Democrats and Republicans. Honestly. What I hear tou telling me is to vote for Stalin because he is better than Hitler. FWIW I have non-Newish family members who were put in a concentration camp and others taken in the night by Stalin and never seen again.

I just don’t trust anonymous forums these days. Connelly was a very popular representative in a blue district. I don’t see it turning Republican in a special election. There was good participation in the primary, even if the safe vs the best candidate won. I don’t see voters in NOVA sitting it out. It’s more likely anonymous bots or instigators are trying to paint a picture of division and distrust.

Then you live in a different place than most people in Fairfax. Our local economy is being devastated by Trump. (Not to mention all the other issues with his lawless administration.)

I think devastated is quite strong. Yes, some government employees and contractors have lost their jobs. But this is a risk non government employees face all the time. Why should government employees be different? Houses keep selling in my Fairfax neighborhood. Usually fairly quickly and at good prices. I have not seen reports of widespread issues in Fairfax.

Then you are not following the news. Unemployment is up - jobs have been cut in private sector (gov contractors mostly) and federal sector. Housing inventory is much higher than last year. And this is all while many fired feds are still being paid. Things will get even worse after this month.

But devastated is quite strong. There is some contraction, but again, why should the DMV be immune from job loss? It shouts entitlement.
