They are highly trainable, loyal, affectionate, fun to do things with outside- they’ll hop in the water, take long hikes, they love the snow- and aside from some shedding, their coats are very easy to care for

I love Goldens but boy the cancer problem is worrying. It was sort of a thing in my extended family to have Goldens (very large family they grew up with a couple of them), but recently every single one of them has been diagnosed with cancer before age 5.
