I am disappointed to inform you of a serious incident at Robert Frost Middle School.


Friday, September 5, 2025, a Frost student physically attacked another Frost student. Staff quickly intervened to end the matter. The student promptly received assistance from our health room nurse.


After a thorough investigation, the student responsible for the physical attack has been given a consequence in accordance with the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Student Code of Conduct. Additionally, we informed our Community Engagement Officer (CEO), our MCPS Cluster Security Coordinator (CSC), The City of Rockville Police Department, and the MCPS Division of School Leadership & Improvement (DSLI)). We take these incidents very seriously.


The safety and well-being of students and staff remain a top priority. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support.

Okay, finally Principal sent a letter. My poor child is so shaken up by this. The 6 th grader girl is in a couple of cry daughter’s classes. She probably won’t be back for several weeks.

Had the 6th grader actually come up to the 8th grader and called her the dreaded "word" straight to her face, it still wouldn't have justified the beating.
I hope the victim's parents don't let the savage get away with it.

+1, They will continute to behave that way as no one stops them and there are no consequences. How many kids have to get hurt?

I have no knowledge of this case, but I want to warn parents on that if your child is injured on school grounds, you MUST take your child to the ER, get a doctor's report, and call police to press charges. Do not let MCPS talk you into a school-only punishment. MCPS, and other public school districts, will always try to avoid legal retribution. They want to avoid having a violent track record, and unfortunately this ends up benefiting violent perpetrators. Victims in such systems are re-victimized a second time when they cannot get reasonable protection from their institutions, and assurances that the perpetrator will get reasonable punishment.

The 6th grader was severely injured. Any child that throws a punch or any other violent act should be charged via police. Let me guess, you have violent kids and think its funny.

My DD said the police was outside. the whole school is talking about it.
Not sure of any other details but this is what was told to me by child.

You are kidding, right? Violent assault should be charged. In school, no less!

As I wrote in the thread below a few days ago, I got punched in the face during outdoor gym class at Robert Frost in the early 1980s. For calling a girl a bad name after she and her friends decided to harass me out of the blue during archery. All of us were white. At least two of us were affluent. I hadn't had any interaction with the girls before that day. I found Frost to be a nasty place and was glad to move away. The girls who picked on me were suspended. I did not get punished because I didn't start it and I didn't hit anyone.

Maybe the school's too big and impersonal and it brings out the worst in kids.
