They don't only expect you to poop, they are aiming to clean your pipes entirely -- anything less and they can't do the procedure. You're gonna be shitting to the extreme -- and if that doesn't happen you're in trouble.
So, no, you can't plan to go anywhere.
OP here. Thanks and you're right! I have no idea what to expect. This is my first colonoscopy. That's why I'm asking the question here.
This is not a can't-miss event at the school. It's not worth changing the procedure time now that I've otherwise cleared my calendar. I just didn't know if the effects would come on slowly enough that I could squeeze in a short activity not far from home, before the worst of it starts.
Honestly, OP, I had kind of a similar question, that I asked the intake person and she had no idea. My dc has a soccer game at 12:00 on a Sunday. My procedure appt time is show up at 11 am on a Monday. Its the prep with pills. I wanted to know if I would be able to go to the game. Person had no idea. So I don't think its a dumb question!
Anonymous wrote:one thing's for sure, if you start the prep at 4 and go to the event at 7, you're sure to be a DCUM conversation
