The interest in test prep and ideas on how to improve scores after August SAT results were released this past week. Since schools that went test optional during pandemic are test required again or test flexible, students are back to game the system. test prep services and tutors making $. And college board makes their $.

I paid for test prep. It’s still the least inequitable way to evaluate kids, because you can’t test prep your way to a good score if you’re stupid. Test prep only makes you reach your natural potential, whatever it is. For some, it’s quite limited.
But with money, you can do any number of extra-curricular activities that will make a difference in college apps, because US colleges are entirely wrong-headed about selecting candidates.
