Nobody’s stopping you from moving to South Korea or India for their superior high stakes test based education system.
Unless the PP is a citizen of those countries, there is actually something stopping them from moving to those countries.
But, even so, more and more universities here are moving to test required, for a reason.

The interest in test prep and ideas on how to improve scores after August SAT results were released this past week. Since schools that went test optional during pandemic are test required again or test flexible, students are back to game the system. test prep services and tutors making $. And college board makes their $.

I paid for test prep. It’s still the least inequitable way to evaluate kids, because you can’t test prep your way to a good score if you’re stupid. Test prep only makes you reach your natural potential, whatever it is. For some, it’s quite limited.
But with money, you can do any number of extra-curricular activities that will make a difference in college apps, because US colleges are entirely wrong-headed about selecting candidates.

There is about a 400 point difference in scores if you look solely at household income. Those in the top quartile score about 400 points higher than those in the bottom quartile.

Test scores are highly influenced by social determinants. They are standardized if all background factors are the same - so if everyone taking it is in a high income bracket, has educated parents, access to educational supports throughout their education, access to rigorous high school curriculum, access to test prep and study resources, access to similar technology - then they are useful.

Yes, acceptances should be based on the number of body piercings you have.
Should really be on the number of non AP classes one takes. What is the point of college if trying to take college courses while still in high school? Each college wants to think their college is "special" and offers a special curriculum. Shouldn't colleges want their incoming students to experience that instead of trying to admit students who are trying to skip over the intro courses?
