Agree as a Duke grad who is also Catholic, the percentage of Catholic students is now 3 times larger than Methodists. Many Catholic masses are now held at Duke Chapel.

It is a non-denominational youth center. It has nothing to do with the Catholic church. Yes, he crosses himself. That's about it. Catholicism and his Catholic school upbringing is an important part of his background. But he is not devout. And it has absolutely nothing to do with Duke. But you seem to like to argue and show how smart you are. I don't even know how we got on this ridiculous tangent.

This thread is a typical DCUM thread full of strong opinions from people who know very little. Anyone who comes here looking for meaningful guidance has to sort through a lot of garbage.

Duke was founded as a Methodist school and that is what the chapel is. Coach K grew up in Catholic schools and it is important to him but I wouldn't call him a "devout" Catholic. And his religion has no influence on the school. His successor is Jewish.

Let me know when Penn basketball is on College Game Day or when Penn football plays Notre Dame, Clemson or FSU. Penn plays Brown, Columbia and Cornell before 5,000 at Franklin Field.

Both schools will be fine. The President of Blackstone went to UPenn, the Global Head of Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs went to Duke. You can end at the top from either school.

My oldest was deciding between Penn, Duke, and a few others and picked Duke. He ended up on Wall Street, like most of his classmates who had that interest. Both schools will get you where you want, I would think more about cultural fit.
