I’m obviously up to date on the news at HHS given my job, but today’s hearing was something else- RFKs gaslighting, lies, misinformation, the fighting. I’m feeling really down and out, like my life’s work is not just meaningless, but it’s only getting worse and we can see it getting worse. I worry about my kids and the world they’re growing up in. A world where we look back and think, wow everyone used to get vaccines? I need a pick me up to help me start a fresh day tomorrow. Help?!
You sound on the verge of a nervous breakdown OP. Perhaps check in to a facility for some time away from media and news. They are bad for your mental health.
On top of that, I would suggest taking some time away from this board. Disconnect from the Internet and get back in touch with the non-digital world. Exercise also does wonders for your mind.
No OP is right, you are an idiot.
RFK Jr is horrifying, and his actions during these hearings are insane. He probably has COVID and is a super spreader. He looks sick. He's a heroin addict in charge of the country's health. He destroyed his first wife, he is a subhuman idiot with zero qualifications and he's a liar every day all day.

Now there's a blip in the road called RFK. And your reaction is to be defeated. Take a look at how other groups have handled adversity. Has the pro choice movement given up? Has the LGBTQIA movement given up? Did the women's rights groups give up when they got arrested for pushing for the right to vote? No. They got up and continued the fight. They developed a new strategy. They banded together with different groups. Now it's your turn. You need to reframe your role and move forward. The world for your children will be what you make it. And, if you decide to give up then you need to own your role in what the world becomes.
Please remove the chip from your shoulder and the stick from your posterior. Public health and science in general has "faced adversity" at least since Copernicus and Galileo, science that overturns peoples wrong cherished beliefs is almost never appreciated in its own time, and if you think that the "blip in the road called RFK" is the first problem public health professionals have encountered in the field's supposedly relentless upward trajectory of acceptance you have clearly been in a coma since at least 2020.
