It’s merit. Presidential scholar- $25k/year can use it over 5 years.

We got nothing from T10-20s. Full pay at an Ivy.

Loyola MD offered $25k in merit plus grants and my DC accepted. He’s a junior now and happy with his choice.

Are you aware of Net Price Calculators? You can find them on the college's financial aid website and compare the estimates for different colleges now, before your child applies.

This is for need-based aid, not merit scholarships, though sometimes schools that offer merit discounts also include merit in the NPC.

We received the best financial aid from BU.
What was really great is that BU locks in the first-year tuition rate for all four years, so I didn’t need to worry about tuition increases after my first child graduates from college or if my salary goes up.

We got 0 merit aid from BU and COA is 96k, must be tuition only.
