+1. Great hotel. Park Hyatt isn't worth the extra points over Thompson.

Yes! We stayed here over the summer and I don't remember exactly how many points it was but we didn't have that many and it was enough to cover our 4-night stay. Great location, pretty spacious for NYC, loved having a walk in shower!

Park Hyatt is the best but the points value isn't what it once was.

We've been staying at the Andaz or Hyatt Centric Midtown/Bryant Park, but I don't know if a room can hold 4 people. How old are your kids?

At 45,000 points it is not the best points exchange. Don’t waste it in NYC. Great Hyatts at fewer points.

I’m elite on Marriott bonvoy. There are about 50 properties across the 30 brands in manhattan alone.

Go on the site or the app, search your dates, and choose one that fits your budget that has at least a 4.0 guest rating. I usually stay at a courtyard in soho or near the Empire State Building to be away from the crush of Times Square, but everything in Manhattan is pretty close to everything else, unless you’re in the financial district or on the UES or UWS.

Agree to save your points for a resort or for more bang for your buck.

Agree. I like a nice hotel as much as the next person, but in NYC, we usually do quick trips and out hotel is just a place to put our heads down at night. We stay at Hiltons and any of the mid-tier hotels are fine with us. High-end Hiltons are mostly 150,000 to 300,000 points! I’ve seen the Waldorf Astoria at 900,000 points. Hilton Garden Inn or Hampton Inn for 80,000 points is fine with me.

Looking to take the trip on hotel points.

I think it depends what sightseeing touristy things you want to do. I’d stay in different areas if I were building a trip around the statue of liberty vs say art museums.

I’m eager to try the Ritz Nomad — that’s a Marriott/Bonvoy brand. I’ve been in the lobby and it’s gorgeous.

We’ve stayed at The Draper (part of Hilton) on West 37th between 5th/6th a few times. Rooms are not huge, but it’s relatively new, doesn’t break the bank, and centrally located for stuff that we usually do in NYC.
