private therapy with a good provider is extremely worth it! we love skill builders. we have seen the same therapist there since 2018. she works saturday hours too which is a big plus. she will come to our house if we need her to and she is very good at giving us suggestions for home.

Strong start did not serve our child at all. I’m still angry about it. Not sure who they are trying to serve but they did a lousy job with my child. Providing the most minimal level of therapies, we had one therapist, who was great, ghost us. I could go on. Saving grace was private therapy.

We did PDC for a year and a half, both speech and OT, for our 4-6 year old with ASD. We really liked the ST and made great progress in speech. With OT, the providers were hit and miss, but all were caring and nice. Just not sure if we made much progress, hard to tell what was OT and what was natural maturing. But we had fun!

It was so hard to find anywhere with openings that I dread having to look again.

It could be the therapist is a poor fit for your child if no progress is happening after several months. Maybe they need a different approach. We had better luck finding ST and OT out of network and submitting for reimbursement.

I hear you. We weren't sure if it was worth it for a long time. But we kept at it and have seen a lot of progress starting around the 1 year mark. It is legitimately difficult though to know if it is worth all the stress of getting to appointments and the cost and if the provider is a good fit.

Get on the waitlist now if you’re considering it. It can be very hard to get in imo
