It’s always like that. Construction and the hot lanes they added. It wasn’t like that before the hot lanes. I live in Va. now but grew up in Md. I try to never take the beltway. I’ll go through town instead.

This. Picture I-95 running up and down the east coast. How does 95 go through DC? You either take 395/295 through or 495 around.

this... even bridge traffic was not as bad as it is now... really, WTH is there always traffic on the bridge, it's the same amount of lanes as the rest of the beltway


A PP said it on the previous page - it’s the effect of construction on the VA side - lanes are getting rearranged, walls are up, the exits keep moving. That bridge always had issues because it’s on an incline and people don’t main their speed consistently.

this... even bridge traffic was not as bad as it is now... really, WTH is there always traffic on the bridge, it's the same amount of lanes as the rest of the beltway

You need to think about getting out of Tyson's if you are in an office park tower. My direct route is 66E. Holiday hell times it's faster to drive on 7.

There are cities far more densely populated than DC, with larger overall populations, and less gridlock. The answer is moving people in more efficient ways than cars.
