exDH's biggest complaint about college graduates is that they know the academic stuff but they haven't spent enough time in the field. They don't have the ability to move tasks around because they don't know what the order of trades is, what specific tasks can be moved to other trades, or even how a project is actually built (they know the theoretical)
Big money will come from being at the top of the food chain in a large commercial company. Side hustle money can come from having his own stamp.
get a summer job pounding nails or some other trade and get some relevant experience
