He lost his job because of the doge cuts... There not a lot new jobs in this area.. Over 100 people are applying for a position, that starting pay is $60,000....

There are a few fb groups where Pitt students post looking to sublet apts or find a roommate for a room in a house/apt. The other universities likely have similar pages but at least one of the Pitt fb groups is pretty active

Pittsburgh is a great city - there's college town elements and as other have said, he should be able to find an apartment or room to rent. good luck in your search!

I was just there this weekend visiting my sister and her family and if I were in my early 20s again Pittsburgh would be high on my list. It appears to be tons of fun and full of young people (i'm old so I don't count). Find a roommate situation for the semester (tons of Universities), sublet or AirBnB. I would go for the roommate situation since it may be temporary and you'll start meeting people immediately. Even if you might end up not liking them, it is an easy way to start to network socially and professionally.

My sister lived in East Liberty and liked it a lot. There are many buildings that have gone up in the past 10ish years with lots of amenities.
