I just can't believe people continue to throw their money at merc and audi, or range rover for that matter.

Would never buy a car that needed one.
I don't drive enough that the car I bought would need one.
I concentrated on making more money instead.
I wouldn't want to drive a car that dies on me and needed repairs covered by warranty.
Who would want to buy this crap from me later?

Depends on the car. You do not have to buy the warranty at the time of purchase. You can shop around to find the best price from another dealer. We have saved more than 50% by doing so. Even if you don’t feel like shopping around, never pay the first price offered by the dealer. You can negotiate.

Subaru Gold warranty is an extended warranty offered by Subaru of America.

The dealership can charge whatever they can get for the warranty. Thus it’s best that you look on Reddit or the Subaru forums as to which dealership has the best price right now. You can buy the warranty from any dealership in the country and it can be used anywhere.

The warranty is viewed as an excellent value.

That is covered under the standard Audi warranty, no need for an extended one.

I bought an extended warranty on my Mercedes SUV and was glad I did because it needed several expensive repairs. The rearview camera failed after the warranty ended so I paid in full on that. Between the repairs and the recalls, I will never buy a Mercedes again.

Generally I don’t insure anything I could cover myself with savings.

I was waiting for this answer after reading through this thread. Extended warranties on a new car is a major waste.

Highly doubt that statement. The odds of extended warranties paying for themselves each time multiple times are close to zero. Just typical selective memory, PP is remembering wins and forgetting losses.

Always and we always manage to use them. Saves us money.

We bought the electronics package because we know it will fail.
