I’ve dated several men who’ve been in your situation with too high child support for their income and living expenses. Two of my ex boyfriends took on travel consulting jobs—out of town weekdays, returning weekends to see kids (with not enough time to see me, hence “ex”)—because otherwise they couldn’t afford basic living expenses even when frugal.

I would not change jobs, a job you've had for many years. Clearly you are facing other new circumstances in your life that are stressful. Keep the job you know. Don't change out of short-sighted panic.
