Jeeze. Think what it’s going to be like when Trump goes all full FDR on us!

Not downtown but friends brought us to Primrose in Brookland and it was super cute and delicious. A few other restaurants in their neighborhood have recently closed so my friends have been trying to bring people from other neighborhoods to help support them. I'd definitely go back.

Menomale rushed to congratulate Trump's win. I don't think they need our support.

Old Ebbit is not a place any normal dc office worker or local would go to. That poster told on themself.

That’s because Old Ebbit has mediocre food and is 100% for tourists who were told “you have to go here to eat!”

I started in working in restaurants in the end of 1997 and it has never been a better time to work in service industry at least in DC.
Business is not down at our restaurant. We have never been busier. People are tipping better than ever on top of the $10 we make.
We cannot find workers as immigrants have disappeared and white collar workers who have lost their jobs, haven't found their way to us yet.
We are very busy for several reasons, but it doesn't translate into money for the restaurant.
I came out of retirement to help out.
Want to help the restaurant? Drink more than you eat.
Can't suggest a restaurant, because I like low nice places.

Nice OP. You may have seen Restaurant Week has been extended another week because Trump's scare tactics + National Guard Theatrics hurt so many restaurants this week.

Lots of choices:

* My husband + I don't usually go out for restaurant week but we have already been twice for similar reasons you mention. We had a delish lunch at Bar Angie, West Rnd, and fab crab cake sandwich at Tony + Joe's, Georgetown Harbor. With the extension, we will try more. Hope you enjoy wherever you pick.

I think you're on the wrong thread.

Unconventional Diner on 9th Street is good. I had a great birthday dinner with friends there.

So you went to 2 restaurants. Business is down at many places.

Not my job to keep them in business. If they are struggling it's usually for a good reason around here.

So what was your contribution to OP’s question? Do you just enjoy making irrelevant remarks?
