The proposed regional model will make these rankings plummet, so I'm guess central office just doesn't care anymore about its national standing

Exaggerate much?

The regional model will just shift students (and their AP scores) around. Some schools will go up in rankings and others down. The average ranking will be around the same.

That's not how math works.

If you take the conference champ players from the teams in the playoffs, and spread them across the league, those teams won't keep the same mix of rankings.

USNWR is useless for high school rankings and we should not reward them with clicks.

MoCo does not have full-school magnets, does not have test-in charter schools, and is exists within the context of a county-wide school system.

So, yes, the rankings are dominated by whole-school magnets and charter schools, but it's not an apples-to-apples comparison in the slightest.

I've always kind of liked Northwest and thought it looked like a solid school in a nice area (I'm more into suburbia). It looks like it moved up in the National rankings from 1059 to 925. The main reasons why we couldn't consider it before was that the location doesn't really work for us. But may look at the area more closely if we're ever in the market again.
