I don't love the pool so close to the house. I don't love the view of the neighbor's house. At that price point I would expect privacy, to include landscaping installed specifically to block view of neighbors' houses if the parcel permits it. The house is lovely with some details I'm not crazy about, such as the sloped ceiling in the formal living room. No photos of the bathrooms? That likely means they're basic. Love the gardens. That is my favorite part about this house. I'd kill for the gardens (not in real life of course).

If someone buys this, I volunteer to live in the guest house. 😀

Rooms the colors of my grandma’s mints.

Grossly overpriced. It shouldn’t sell for over $4/$4.2. If you want something high end w/ land in Alexandria, the Clarens estate is the one to buy. I wouldn’t love being on Quaker, but it’s set far enough back that it’s probably a non-issue.

There is only one decent house on that street and that is not it!

This neighborhood definitely has covenants that would prevent you from doing that. The neighbors certainly have funds to sue you for violating the covenants.

The final contract price will start with a $5 for reasons that everyone has stated but I could see them getting a low ball offer with a $4 which they will probably reject.

The house is very "specific" in its design choices which can always be changed out but that will cost the new owner time and money. For the asking price, most buyers will want a pristine move in ready home.

MAGA?

It's probably a Demmie in that neighborhood.

It's a weird house, literally zero curb appeal because you can't see it from the street.

I agree--at that price, they should have made some updates. Or at the very least, put some money into more neutral staging.

+1

What else did they cheap out on if they can’t stage it properly?

The owner did just that for many years throughout Alexandria. He is more likely to donate it to UVA or Vietnam Vets

Agree that at that price point they could’ve made some minor updates. Feels lazy not to.

That pink is probably very ugly in person (it’s ugly on the screen and that’s after the photog probably toyed with saturation and lighting.)

Still a beautiful piece of property.

It’s goofy but I agree, the 1/2 address makes it sound like a duplex. It’s an unusually large plot of land, much larger than other homes in the neighborhood and it is set way back behind multiple other homes on that street.

I am guessing that many years ago this was an even larger plot of land that was subdivided/sliced up into multiple pieces. Question is why did the biggest piece (this house) get stuck with the 1/2 address?
