It's 22 for our team and another I checked. We were told it was because of World Cup.
We are losing almost one third of our league games compared to last year (34 to 24), we no longer play Red Bulls, and we play Philly Union only once. That's a significant downgrade from last year for a higher price.
What does the World Cup have to do with any of this?
All the MLS club academy teams U15 and older going forward will be more focused on playing each other with less games against MLS Next teams
They will also it seems from yesterday's release play one year up if its not a MLS club team
hmmmm. my son's squad, and the three other mid-atlantic clubs I checked, only plays DC United once and no other MLS academies. If MLS Next moves away from having those matches, which we value for exposure and competition, then the league doesn't really present an advantage over ECNL. Consumers will move away, I'm sure.
Just to follow on my own post, I don't see the point of the league if I'm travelling to Beadling but not also travelling to Philly Union. My son can play a much closer Beadling equivalent.
Aren't the Mid-Atlantic MLS Next clubs like Bethesda, SYC etc superior competition to ECNL teams?

Tucson, AZ
Mesa, AZ
Scottsdale, AZ
Sanford, FL
West Chester, OH
Hammonton, NJ
Fredericksburg, VA
Kansas City, KS
Are specific AD Divisions assigned to each region? Or can clubs pick which one they send teams to?

The World Cup has everything to do with this. Did your coach not brief your team?
Everything is being shortened as the season needs to wind up before 1 May 2026 if I recall correctly.
