I sympathize with the OP. My son went from 150lbs at 18 to 230 by 23. A good amount of muscle but mostly fat. He’s very hairy now too. Women do seem to enjoy the look alot…

If was skinny and wiry most of his life he probably bulked up to shed that title. Men view size and strength as important.

I like your son…not so much you, OP.

Are you worried about steroids? My son came home with them and decided not to use them (I found them in the back of a closet!)

My brother did this in his 20s. He was huge. Then he decided that the cost of food and extra big clothes was too expensive. He stopped bulking and slimmed down some, not a ton, but some.

The tipping point for my brother was when he had to get a custom shirt and suit for a wedding because his neck was the size of most people's waist. It was $$$$. Just ridiculous.

Yeah this isn't even a problem. You want him to stay permanently 18, not going to happen.

Also your son 100% voted Trump lol.

I dont think this is necessarily true. Weight lifting is a huge thing with the sporty kids and young men right now. They’re all doing it. Many are also taking creatine and other supplements. That part isn’t great but the lifting as a hobby isn’t tied to any political ideology, except that they are jocks or wannabe jocks. And it does seem that girls like it better.

Sorry but OP said it IS true. The whole family voted for the idiot. They live in Loudoun and I’m sure they’re thrilled with the federal takeover of DC.

Your husband thinks its impressive because he’s a man and knows how it is. What exactly are you worried about?

This exactly. My son had a late growth spurt and went from 5’9” at 17 to 6’ by 19. He gained 50lbs in the process and grew a full beard and mustache. As a mom it was jarring, for him it was a blessing of confidence and feeling more sure of yourself. Definitely helped him with women too. Stop looking at things through your own mom lens and try to put yourself in his shoes.

As a man it probably feels good to he tall and big. I would be happy for him and ignore it unless he starts abusing supplements or getting obese.

Nope. This is engaging in Mom’s delusion too much. She needs to cope with the fact that her son went from boy to man.

From what I've seen on DCUM, you're lucky.

As a man, he's impressive and can probably defend himself and YOU if necessary. Be thankful.

100%. My own son could aspire to be more like OP's son (who she's literally complaining about).

LOL my 18 year old would kill to be built like that you're over here complaining about it.

"Oh no! My successful son has gotten bigger and stronger! My life sucks! Whatever shall I do"

That's how you sound. Congrats to your son, sounds impressive.
