+1 most of these girls end up at obscure division three schools that nobody has heard of anyways. Is it really worth all the time and money? Why sacrifice and education for soccer?

+1. Kids spend close to a decade training with the club 4 or more days a week and playing games with the club 1-2 days a week and these people act like the club had no influence! Clearly they have not had experience at good AND bad clubs. There is a huge difference. But I guess if your only experience is with bad clubs, you just wouldn’t know.

Players recruited at top schools generally train with their club at least 4 days a week, play 1-2 games with the club on weekends, train individually, and with outside trainers. Some play high school, ODP, and SuperY. So yes, a lot has to do with effort, devotion, and genetics. But the structure, strategy, and team skills generally comes from the club training. Lots and lots of club training. If your child has experienced the differences in training with 2 or more clubs, it is easy to see the huge differences in the training and strategy at good vs bad clubs. If you think the club does not play, at least, a large part in imparting skills on the kids, then you have never been to a truly good club. You can also see the vastly different recruitment rates across the different clubs if you are honest and not shading your eyes with your own agenda.

That is not to say that some kids seem to be almost born superstars and would do well with any club, but these kids are few and far between. I also admit that the effort the kid puts in plays a large part in their success. But I am also sure that many kids at clubs that do not have the high recruitment rates also give fantastic effort. Maybe the top kids self select to the clubs that have high recruitment rates, but that had to start somewhere and I bet a large part of that is college recruiters know the clubs that are training well and are consistently producing talent and concentrate their recruiting there.

Yes. Sometimes players only play for a club a year and then they commit to a college. Sometimes players commit to a college and then change clubs. Some of the players also have played for the club since they were five years old. Do they deserve different treatment? Should the clubs not post the players that are new and only the players that have been there their whole soccer careers?

It doesn’t matter anyways, though. The clubs don’t develop any of these players or help with the recruiting process at all, right?

You think those P4 commits from VDA and RU wouldn’t have done so if they had played for another club? All clubs are selling the same thing. Do you credit the teachers for the students getting A’s in high school?

So teachers don’t teach students anything and coaches don’t coach players?

VDA is going to have who knows how many ‘27 P4 commits. Penn State, Rice and Tennessee already. Perhaps two to Florida State…and many more to come. The 08 team has many ‘27s as well. I’ll predict at least 10 commits to P4 schools.

Richmond ‘27 already has 5 P4 commits and an Ivy.

Pretty sre the RU kids came up through the system. I see Futsal RVA celebrating the signings on IG. Most of the kids played for them when younger.
