I don’t get this, don’t you have sex? Isn’t that just as germy as a toothbrush? It wouldn’t occur to me to buy a whole other toothbrush for my spouse. Or kids, tbh. But sure, for a roommate or something. But actually, I would let my women friends borrow my toothbrush if they asked. I would just rinse it out well between.
Hmmmm, interesting parallel and examples there.Sharing blood is just unhygenic overall. Even with a spouse. Unless you are Angelina Jolie of course.

She said she has tried to break the habit but her teens still use hers and her husbands or grab whoever has a toothbrush out and available.
I’m struggling to ask this but … is this common?
Yeah those kids need to grow up and get their own personal space and not be using their parents toiletries and such. That's disgusting, and really not safe, as toothbrushes, nail clippers, combs, etc. can spread diseases. Don't want the whole family to get STDs or Hepatitis just cause one of them is promiscuous or unhygenic.
I know I said I wouldn't get judgy, but each member of the family has to have their own hairbrush and comb and nail clippers too?
Anonymous wrote:You are not supposed to share toothbrushes or razors or anything that can share saliva or blood borne pathogens. Sharing a toothbrush isn’t the same as sharing a water bottle or spoons or a coffee mug, because every time you brush, you have microtears that allow the bacteria in. Is it the biggest deal in the world? No. I’m an MD and I would advise against it, but if people are choosing to share a toothbrush vs not wear a helmet while biking,
I’m going to come down harder about the helmet.

Sadly, my family is not as "exciting" as yours.
